Shakespeare at School

Shakespeare at School is designed to bring the Bard’s works to life in your classroom. Our three programs are taught by Playmakers Teaching Artists and are available for Middle and High Schools. Programs are tailored to fit the particular needs of your class and are open to all levels of experience from the novice to the Shakespearean scholar.

Workshops are intensive sessions available for one class period (up to an hour and a half). Topics range from Elizabethan lifestyle and movement to text analysis to and stage combat. Choose from a Playmakers lesson plan or pair topics that are most relevant to your students. This program is best done on a stage or in an auditorium. Workshops are taught by two Playmakers Teaching Artists and are designed for up to 40 students.

$250 for one Workshop, with discounts available for additional Workshops

Teacher In-Service

The Teacher In-Service program is modeled for the classroom and will align with your existing Theatre or English curriculum. Two Teaching Artists will come to your class for five hour-long sessions over the course of your lesson to elaborate on historical context, text analysis, and the process of taking Shakespeare from the page to the stage.

$950 for 5 sessions in one class, with discounts available for multiple classes
