The Adventures of Tom Sawyer TYA

Playmakers’ Young Professionals production of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer opened our 33rd season and ran from August 21-30, 2015. Our young actors were joined by two adult guest artists, Jorge Ponjuan and Bacot Wright.

Alice in Wonderland Jr.
Directed by Alicia Hanley.
Playmakers’ Young Professionals production of Alice in Wonderland Jr. opened our 32nd Season and ran from August 15-24, 2014.

Beauty and the Beast
Directed by Neena Kelfstrom.
Playmakers’ production of Beauty and the Beast ran from May 30 – June 8, 2014. Several of our performances were completely sold out, and it was our most successful show of the season! Thanks to all those who helped bring this tale as old as time to life.

Be Our Guest
On May 28, 2014, Playmakers held a special event to honor all of our sponsors, volunteers, and friends. Special recognition was given to Michelle Roy, Louisiana Environmental Education Commission, Rebekah Summerville, LSU Theatre Department, ExxonMobil Baton Rouge, and Julia George Moore. The night included the announcement of our 2014-15 season as well as a special sneak performance of our summer musical, Beauty and the Beast. Thanks to all who made it out for the evening and everyone who made our 31st Season such a wonderful success!

Rock the Mic
On January 12, 2014 Playmakers held a special karaoke fundraiser at Brew-Bacher’s Grill on Nicholson Dr. Everyone had a blast, and we achieved our goal of raising $1,500 for new microphones.
Broadway Santa
Directed by Jason Bayle.
Broadway Santa served as Playmakers’ Christmas musical for 2013 and ran from December 5-15. Since Santa was already in the building for the show, children got to sit on his lap after the performance to tell him what they wanted for Christmas.
Seussical Jr.
Directed by Weston Twardowski.
Playmakers Young Professionals’ production of Seussical Jr. opened our 2013-14 Season and ran from August 23 – September 1, 2013.

CASA Kids Day
Dorothy, the Tin Man, and our Playmakers Young Professionals headed to the Mall of Louisiana on August 11, 2013 to celebrate Capital Area CASA Kids Day. Dorothy and the Tin Man sang and read excerpts from The Wizard of Oz, and the Young Professionals played theatre games and sang and danced selections from their upcoming musical, Seussical Jr. At the end of the evening, Tin Man pulled the winning raffle ticket for CASA’s playhouse fundraiser.

Lilly’s Purple Plastic Purse

Playmakers’ production of Lilly’s Purple Plastic Purse was the third show in our 2012-13 Season and ran for two weekends in February 2013.
The Little Mermaid Jr.
Directed by Christin Rills.
Playmakers Young Professionals’ production of The Little Mermaid. opened our 2012-13 Season and ran for one weekend. The run of this show was completely SOLD OUT!
